Deadlines — two are two types
Moveable deadlines — those that we aim to reach, but if we don’t it is not the end of the world
Unmoveable deadlines — those that relate to an event and can’t be moved.
The Olympics deadline was an unmoveable one. For weeks, actually months, we were warned of the closing date for applications for tickets, but at the last minute the website had problems and people didn’t get their applications in.
At Hooper Graphics keeping the customer happy is our ultimate goal.
So we like to have clear deadlines, of either sort; we like to create a production schedule; we like to allow plenty of time — why? Because frequently things never go to plan, things can go wrong, machines breakdown and unexpected events happen but unmovable deadlines still have to be met and quality shouldn’t be compromised.
So because of this our Olympics ticket application was submitted a few weeks ago and we are now just waiting to see if we are successful.
