Hooper Graphics and the Cookie Policy

Monday, May 28th, 2012

Over the past week or so Hooper Graphics has been working to ensure that all its customers and their websites are compliant with the new EU directive on Cookies.  We have offered them three options of

  1.  Displaying a banner asking them to accept cookies
  2.  Adding a page outlining their privacy and cookie policy
  3.  Removing cookies from their site which are mainly Google Analytics.

The majority of our customers have accepted our advice and selected the option suitable for them.  Most have requested Google Analytics be removed while others have opted for the Privacy/Cookie page be added, customised to their individual site.

In this world of transparency you can see why the cookie policy has come into being but you must ask why has not everybody actioned this by the deadline (a lot of companies have not implemented this and are waiting to see if the policy has legs or will it just be a bureaucratic storm in  a tea cup and disappear). We will have to watch to see how the authorities react to those ignoring the directive.

Hooper Graphics mention in West Briton

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

There was a nice piece in the West Briton a few weeks ago, all about the new maps and leaflets that Redruth Town Council have produced. Hooper Graphics did the brand identity and designed the leaflet and I got a mention for the work that I did, which was nice, and they included my quote.

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Hooper Graphics Corporate Social Responsibility programme involves giving back to the community and this is what I have done by designing and building a website for Redruth Brewery Leats.

WordPress was used, as it is a really efficient Content Management System and allows Councillor Graeme Hicks to update the website himself.

There is a full press report in the West Briton.

Official Opening of Pool Innovation Centre

The Duke of Kent came to the Innovation Centre on Monday to declare it officially open.

Not only did he met the organisations that were part of the design and build; those that funded it; but also some of the new Tenants. I am delighted to say he came into the Formation Zone and spoke to us and was very interested in it.

Going back to my birthplace

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

In case you were not aware I am very excited about moving into Pool Innovation Centre and it is possible to see where I was born from the offices on the top floor.

Pool Innovation Centre is a striking building with a high quality environmental specification that meets full BREEAM* Excellence. It is going to be great working in this new state of the art office environment amongst others who wish to capitalise on the excellence of the facilities.

I have met several of the other new tenants, there is an real buzz and excitement about moving in. Being in this positive environment with other people in a similar field, not only helps the creative process but encourages collaborative working among fellow professionals. This can only benefit the service we offer our clients.

I am going to be one of the first tenants to move into the Formation Zone and will be given business support to help the business grow. Pool Innovation Centre is being run by The University of Plymouth following their successful model in Plymouth.

Additional benefits include use of a dedicated facilitated meeting space, reception service and a faster internet connection. These technological advances will help propel the business forward and allow Hooper Graphics to compete nationally.

* BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building’s environmental performance.

Press article

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I am delighted to see that Parson Willimott’s Cornish Sketchbook has got even more press coverage.

On Tuesday 11 May it was featured by The Western Morning News. That should help sell a few more copies to help raise funds to restore the stained glass windows in the Church.

I was also very happy to see the Design get a nice comment from Christine Edwards in the article.

“We are all very pleased with the high quality of the design and printing, which gives an authentic feel to the book.”
