Redruth leaflet

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

As the third and final part in the rebranding of Redruth, Hooper Graphics designed the new leaflet that has been produced to encourage tourists to visit the town.

Redruth leaflet

As mentioned previously, Redruth was the financial capital of the Cornish Mining Industry in its heyday during the last 19th century. Redruth underwent a period of growth and many of the buildings that were built during this time can still be seen.

Redruth is also the home of the Cornish Studies Library, another Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, an absolute must for anyone interested in the history of Cornwall and is free to visit.

The leaflet gives a brief insight into some of these buildings, together with the new town map and an area map showing the cycle routes that pass close to Redruth.

Temporary signage for Redruth

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

As part of Redruth Action Plan Project (RAPP), it was recognised that better signage was needed for visitors to the town, so when they arrived at the car park they would know the best places to visit.

Temporary Signage in New Cut Car Park, Redruth

Hooper Graphics has been delighted to design the signage for Redruth’s New Cut Car Park. This includes a new illustrated map of the town centre, produced by Oxford Cartographers, and incorporates Redruth’s new brand identity, part of which will feature one of the cheeky Tinners Hounds, that are to be seen lurking in Redruth’s Fore Street!

Photographs of selected places to visit in Redruth are also incorporated. Redruth’s main attractions all have free entry so you can discover all about Redruth’s past.

Contract Signs will be producing new updated signage shortly, but in the meantime this temporary signage will help out our summer visitors.

New brand identity for Redruth

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Redruth is undergoing a period of regeneration that is being managed by CPR Regeneration, known as Redruth Action Plan Project (RAPP). It was identified that it needed to improve the promotion and marketing of the town, and as part of this plan or vision a new brand for Redruth has been created.

Redruth was the financial centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site and its role needed to be clearly communicated in its new logo.

Redruth's new logoIt also has a new strapline “The Heart of Cornish Mining”, which also reflects what makes Redruth distinctive. This strapline has  a double meaning, not only reflecting its position within Cornish Mining but also the friendliness of the townspeople, which was recently highlighted when the shopkeepers came fourth in a national poll as offering good service.

Being based in Redruth, Hooper Graphics were delighted to be involved in this project. The colour scheme is based on the current street furniture, whilst the green reflects how it is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with mines dotted amongst its landscape.

Casino Fundraising Dinner

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Redruth Chamber of Commerce held its annual Casino Fundraising Dinner at the weekend at Penventon Hotel, Redruth.

The Theme was Speakeasy and it was great to see so many people dressed up as Gangsters and Molls – we even had a Gangster on the door making sure no-one got in without a ticket! The room was decorated with black and red balloons, with large mono prints hung on the walls (these were auctioned at the end of the evening).

There was fantastic support from local businesses and national organisation’s as well, and although the official final figure has not yet been announced, I hear we raised a lot of money – over £2000!

The money raised is partly going towards RedYOUth, a local youth organisation that seeks to keep youngsters occupied and off the streets. They have a fantastic dance group and are now offering other activities and getting involved in lots of community work.

The other money is to help Redruth Christmas Lights Group – the Insurance Bill for putting up lights is very high, but Redruth Chamber is delighted to carry on providing the insurance cover for the Group, so that Redruth can be “lit-up” at Christmas.

So thanks to everyone involved.

Hooper Graphics was delighted to sponsor the design of the posters, programmes and to be involved in decorating the room.

RedYOUth Charity Chosen

Friday, September 24th, 2010

Redruth Chamber of Commerce have chosen their Charity for the Annual Fundraising Dinner taking place on Saturday November 13th at 7.00pm, to be held at The Penventon Park Hotel.

The theme this year is ‘Speakeasy’ – so we are hoping lots of Gangsters and Molls will turn up! Mind as it is set in the days of Prohibition it won’t be easy to find us, and you will need your Ticket and Password to gain entry.

We are hoping to have as much fun as last year and raise lots of money for RedYOUth – who describe themselves as

gobsmaking-hipshaking-motivate-invigorating-cool-moving-after-schooling-dance-electric-most-eclectic-mind-expanding-most-demanding-body-building-real-good-feeling-FUN!

Looks quite intriguing and worth a visit.
